This tournament is by the people, and for the people. No offense
to Capcom, but they do not support the US SF community whatsoever to the extent
that companies like Namco has. We are forced to take a grassroots approach to
every tournament out there. This also includes every little tournament that
occurs in the United States, as well as large tournaments such as Evolution,
Midwest Championships, March Madness (not related to the NCAA basketball tourney)
and East Coast Championships.
The people responsible for creating these tournaments do not
make a dime off these events. Any "profits" made goes back to recoup
the costs in labor, manufacturing, cleanup, website creation and hosting, and
assorted fees. The tournament pot is provided by the players, and nobody ever
takes money off the pot for financial gain. Registration fees are to rent the
use of equipment at the arcade, to help offset the operator's loss during the
tournament by making all tournament machines on Free Play. Some images used
