Rules for Texas Showdown

General

Vaping is not allowed in the ballroom.

Taking a loss to manipulate brackets/pools is poor sportsmanship and will result in disqualification from the tournament.

Anyone caught stealing Equipment from the event or possessions from another person will result in a ban and criminal prosecution.

Scalping of Texas Showdown registration or event spectator passes is strictly prohibited.

While pets are allowed in the Royal Sonesta, they are not allowed in the event spaces.

Pursuant to Section 30.06, Penal Code (Trespass by License Holder with a Concealed Handgun), a person licensed under Subchapter H, Chapter 411, Government Code (Handgun Licensing Law), may not enter this property with a concealed handgun.

Pursuant to Section 30.07, Penal Code (Trespass by License Holder with an Openly Carried Handgun), a person licensed under Subchapter H, Chapter 411, Government Code (Handgun Licensing Law), may not enter this property with a handgun that is carried openly.

Tournament Rules

Turbo buttons are not allowed.

Cheating is not tolerated and will result in immediate ejection from the tournament.

Blind pick is available upon request.

Any person caught impersonationg another player will be immediately disqualified from all tournaments in Texas Showdown 2024 and subject to an indefinite ban.

Pool play

Please report to the tournament area about 15 minutes before your scheduled pool.

Please give players enough space to operate when they are playing in a match.

When your name is called, you have 15 minutes to report to your matchup. After the time limit has elapsed, you will forfeit the match and will result in a loss.

It is YOUR responsibility to show up on time! If you must, scout out the location ahead of time.
